As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Ascension Childcare, Inc is governed by a Board of Directors. This group of individuals represents both the community and ACC families. The Board of Directors meets once a month with the Executive Director. Families are welcome to join an open board meeting annually.

Our current Board of Directors are made up of the follow individuals:

Maria Arnold (Board Chair) is a Human Resources Director at a Vermont founded tech company, Polly Inc. She is a Vermont native and current resident of Shelburne, Vermont. She has two daughters who attended Ascension Childcare. Maria joined the board in 2020 as a way to support the incredible work Ascension does in the community for early childhood education, helping to provide the community at large with safe, nurturing and enriching first experiences for lifelong learners.

Ned Granara is a licensed CPA and Shelburne resident. Together with his wife Brittany they currently have two children enrolled at ACC. Ned is the Corporate Controller at E INC and joined the Board in 2020 as a way to give back to the program that has been so influential to his family since both his children started at ACC when they were infants.

James Brakeley works in the automotive industry and lives in South Burlington with his wife Bre and daughter Sophia, who has been enrolled at ACC since she was an infant. He joined the board in 2022 in order to support Ascension’s incredible staff and firmly believes that high-quality early childcare is critical for helping our kiddos grow into happy, healthy and kind people.

Ruthie Silver is a military wife and ACC parent of two boys. By day, she's a digital marketing communications professional, specializing in the health and fitness industry. Ruthie joined the board in 2022 because ACC has been a blessing to her family, and she deeply cares about the organization's mission and staff.

Cady Goudreau is the Director of Operations for a local Technology Consulting Company, Competitive Computing, Inc. She has a daughter who currently attends Ascension Childcare.  As a working parent, Cady understands the importance of quality childcare and the impact to families, businesses, and communities.  She joined the Board of Directors in 2022 to support Ascension's mission in providing high quality early childhood care.
